The land of dreams

the land of dreams is the word i learnt from spex and jerry at SA champs last year..
when they say "the land of dreams" they refuring to the beautiful place named Cape Town.

Cape Town is as most of you know the most amazing place in this world that some get the privilege of living in.
im back in this "land of dreams" place and its needless to say that im ready to get some waves.
Starting from today i will be out in the water everyday as soon as its rideable trying to get back into the comfort zone.
Not going to lie when im keen to get back into the rythem of things with my surfing.

The location of wear i will be staying is the deep end of melkbosstrand.Not the best and closest location to get waves and to places but im happy to be back in my local town i spent 17years living in,and jason fowler lives here to so it will be just like the old days..

i feel bad if your in the junior division this year because fowler will give you a nice spanking,but dont take that as a way not to enter contests,2nd place is still cool..

a quick update

So the WP trial dates have been decided,the cape classic dates are out and the tour is a month from starting..
this is good....im starting to feel ready and more fit than usual.
i havent drank alcohol in a month now and just from that makes me feel better.
All i need now is to get down to cape town,test the water and see how my riding is,which im pretty nervous about seeing as though i have only surfed once this year so far and not exactly the best waves either.
i hope fowler has been atleast surfing more...
i willl make another post as soon as i know my dates for getting back to cape town..
in the meen time i reckon who ever is keen to enter wp trials must get on it as the 1st trial is on the 6th of march..
on another note,the pipeline pro is starting on the 15th of feb and we should support all the saffas on the rock as much as possible,best of luck to those riders...

sooo 1stly i told you last week that im not drinking anymore on a rergular basis but more on a special occasion basis..sooo anyways i feeling alot more healthy after not touching alcohol or any fizzy drinks and the odd bit of core training here and there...but as soon as my ankle is 100% i will be training extremly hard for the start of wp trials and the 1st stop on the saba tour,the cape classic



2nd of all :jared houston will be leaving in a couple of days to go to hawaii to enter the pipeline pro where he finished 3rd last year and evrything came togethere for him.
he finished 10th on the world tour for 2010 and also won the rookie of the year since it was his 1st year on the world tour ..lakka

, a good friend caleb tennant has ben away for 3weeks now in the states.and has came 5th in his 1st race,he had abad start and reckons he can make podium if he has a goood 1..
caleb went to the states to get further in motorcross.he is 16 years old and has won 4x sa championchips and a bunch of other races to,now his racing in the states and doing well..he is staying at the millsaps training facility in georgia with the likes of joey vatgy,nico leocata,sean lipanovich,nick myers and steven clarke just to name a few..well done to caleb and best of luck..all the pictures bellow are of caleb

pretty much this blog has become a dying pacient...i have no real excuse for not keeping update and fowler def doesnt either.

so pretty much i can give u a summery of what we have been up2 the last couple of months

what went down and whats about to go down

the last time there was a proper post was in april or something like that.

sooo ivv ben to durban and entered margate where i got a disgusting 5th,went to wedge classic in plettenberg bay where i got an even worse 7th and then went to the west coast classic where i slightly redeemed my self with a 2nd placing..

me and fowler ALSO entered the CHRIS ELLIOT WP CHAMPS ,where we both finalised ...

in that final we were both feeling the confidence to win but i just went all out from the 1st wave to lead the heat but get struck down in the last few minutes by an interference call,

soo i got a 2nd and fowler got a fair 1st..

me and fowler were also chosen to represent WP at the 2010 south african champs which was held in durban,wp came 3rd overall,i got a 5th and fowler got a 7th i also collected a 2nd in SABA (the south african tour)..not bad for fowler being it his 1st year in u18...

also there was another contest being held by jared houston called the grom bash which fowler destroyed and got a well deserving 1st place..

after that i can say both me and fowler got a bit lost in the party scene partying for more than half a week at times.

i went to plett rage and came back taking part in the same night life games with out a stop,then it was new years which didnt slow me down at all either...then it was the 1st week of 2011 which i spent drinking wine and getting slorted...not the best decision...

soo today i watched 1 of the people i started bodyboarding with make his 2nd overseas surfing destinating(1st 1 to oz) to hawaii,and believe me he deserves it,he bodyboards well and charges like a hell man ,he worked a 9-5 job plus is studying..he desrves this,i may not be jelous because he has worked his way there and i have drank every bit of money i had out,so whos fault is that???mine!!!!

so this year is my year ,my 1st year in pro and im as unfit as an old fat dog ready to pek..

time to shape up,man up and prove that i still wanna do well in bodyboarding and make it big in the world some day maybe to...so this year is dedicated to bodyboarding not to that siff thing called alcohol..i cant promise that i will sugseed but ill rather try than regret it 1 day when i realy realise i BLEW IT BIG TIME..
